037: Recap of the Shenanigans

July 4th, 2019

We’re living in a post-E3 world, Gamer Friends! We have a jam-packed episode for you covering all of the latest and greatest since our E3 recap episodes.

“Logging On,” Big Nkrumah and AudioNerd64 are getting into all of the juicy news that didn’t make the main stage at E3, such as Stadia’s pricing, no National Pokédex in Pokémon Sword and Shield, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s realism issues, and some initial gameplay reactions from Marvel’s Avengers, Outer Worlds, and Gears 5.

“These Past Two Weeks in Nerdom,” we are basically the worst. But, we’re fresh out of the theatre from Spider-Man: Far From Home and we’ll be dropping a full spoilercast for your listening pleasure in just a few days.

Finally, we’re thrilled to welcome Carolyn Petit, Managing Editor of Feminist Frequency to the show! After an in-depth discussion of the controversy surrounding Cyberpunk 2077’s depiction of a trans person in their E3 demo, we also talk about Ubisoft’s recent attempts to cash in on the revolution via their marketing for Watch Dogs: Legion.

As always, thanks for listening. If you enjoyed this episode, please leave a rating and a review, or better yet, tell a few of your gamer friends about us. Catch you in two weeks!
